Prediction: 3-0
Dundee United v Kilmarnock
Lots has been happening at Tannadice this week. I'm sure Craig Levein will still have had quite a bit to do with the team that goes out to face Kilmarnock on Saturday. The players will be on a bit of a downer, having lost their manager but Levein had assembled a good squad and they have to be professional.
Their opponents, Kilmarnock, are so unpredictable - just look what happened against Falkirk last week. Yet they seem to scrape results from somewhere when you least expect it. I think United will win this match, but it will be incredibly close and hard fought.
Prediction: 2-1
Falkirk v Hearts
Falkirk hadn't won away from home all season and then went to another club threatened with relegation, Kilmarnock, and beat them 2-1. They must get confidence from that. If not, there is something wrong. It's a home game for them so I cannot see them losing.
Like Falkirk, Hearts got a great result last week when they beat Celtic and will also be riding high. Neither side score a lot of goals so I'm going for a low-scoring draw.
Prediction: 1-1
Motherwell v St Johnstone
Motherwell had better be careful. They are on the slippery slope at the moment and just haven't been playing that well. They had a go against Celtic but they were at home and you expect the players to be up for these games. Jim Gannon has gone for young boys in the team but that can only take you so far. At the moment they look like little boys lost.
St Johnstone won 1-0 against St Mirren last week, which was an important result. I think this match will be open and high scoring, as the Saints are scoring goals but also giving them away, though, of course, they kept a clean sheet last week.
Prediction: 2-2
St Mirren v Aberdeen
St Mirren had a great spell earlier in the season but are now finding it tough. They would have been expecting more points than they have accumulated so far. They will be looking at winning this game against the Dons, though.
Lee Miller is out for Aberdeen and they get too many players sent off. Confidence is low after home defeats against Hibs and Hamilton - the latter a very bad result for Mark McGhee's side.
I think both teams will be happy with a point.
Prediction: 1-1
SUNDAY 27 DECEMBER
Hibernian v Rangers
It's the game of the weekend. I think Hibernian will finish third in the SPL and if they want to guarantee that or do better they will have to beat the Old Firm. With home backing, I expect them to take the game to Rangers and we should be in for a cracker.
Rangers are in a rich vein of form and are scoring lots of goals and playing good football. It's an important spell for them, playing the three teams closest to them in the league.
Hibs will have a big part in the game and have goalscorers in their side. A point apiece is my guess.
Prediction: 2-2
