Portsmouth v Burnley (1245 GMT)

I have to be honest and say I don't think this is a game that Portsmouth can afford to lose. I realise that's a big shout when we're only in early December, but if Burnley go there and win this weekend that's game over for Portsmouth in my eyes.

With that in mind, and the fact Burnley have been all over the shop on the road, even Portsmouth, who need five chances to score one goal, will fancy this one.

Falkirk v Rangers (1230)

Eddie May's men have been improving and they missed a few chances in the defeat by Hibs at Easter Road.

I expect them to give Rangers a tough game. The best chance for them to beat the Old Firm is with home advantage and they're going into this one with a bit of confidence.

Walter Smith's men are finding it tough on the road just now and will be looking to bounce back from the defeat at Pittodrie.

Aston Villa V Tottenham

This is the battle of the pretenders.

Villa dropped points at Burnley last week, while Tottenham had an unbelievable 9-1 win over Wigan.

It's going to be close, but being as Villa are at home I'll go for Martin O'Neill's side.

Verdict: 2-1

Aberdeen v Rangers (1245)

I'll be up at this one and I'm expecting the typical hard-fought game we always see between these sides.

Aberdeen always raise their game and make it difficult for Rangers.

Rangers are out of Europe but are doing well in the league and will want to keep this going.

This fixture always has plenty of talking points.

Prediction: 1-1

Liverpool v Man City (KO 1245 GMT)

The good news for Liverpool is that it looks like Steven Gerrard has got himself fit, although I'm not sure that Fernando Torres will make this one. Manchester City had four players starting for England last week so it's not as if they've had a rest and that could be a factor.

I think Manchester City now have players capable of taking the game to Liverpool and that might suit the home side as a lot of teams go to Anfield and shut up shop. But this could be an open game and Liverpool will like that.

Verdict: 1-0

SATURDAY 21 NOVEMBER

Falkirk v Hamilton

This will be a cracker. Falkirk got a great result against Celtic recently, and did everything they had been failing to do in previous matches.

Even though they didn't keep a clean sheet, they scored goals, so it'll give them confidence.

I've watched Hamilton a few times recently, they're hard to break down and seem to be well organised. But when they lose a goal, the trouble starts and they end up chasing the game.

Both sides know what's at stake in this match, but I'm going to go for a Falkirk win.

Aston Villa v Bolton

Villa will want to hit back after Wednesday's last-minute defeat to West Ham while Bolton will probably be feeling a little unhinged after their demolition at home to Chelsea.

Martin O'Neill's team will have enough to deal with everything the visitors throw at them though.

Aberdeen v St Johnstone

Aberdeen need a result from somewhere after a couple of poor ones against Dundee United and Hibs.

Those were hard games, but they need something to boost their confidence as it is near to crunch time for them.

It will be another tough one as St Johnstone are playing well. Derek McInnes's side are entertaining and I enjoy watching them.
