Wolves v Aston Villa (1245 BST)

Villa are not playing that well but they are still picking up great results which must make boss Martin O'Neill absolutely delighted. The team are really sticking at it and they've got great team spirit with new players coming in and giving everything.

Wolves picked up a well-earned point at Everton last week and their injured players are now returning to fitness. This could just be their best result of the season so far.

Verdict: 2-1

Aberdeen v Dundee United

This fixture brings back great memories for me. I always loved playing in this one since it is such a keenly contested rivalry.

Aberdeen are showing signs of gradual improvement, but they are drawing too many games. A long overdue goal for Lee Miller last week will have boosted his confidence, but he will find it hard going against a well-organised United defence.

United are carrying a few injuries and were far from their best last time, when they drew with Hamilton, but they are always hard to beat.

There's very little between the sides and I just can't separate them.

Aston Villa v Chelsea (1245 BST)

Lots of these players have been on international duty and though it's not such a problem physically, I think mentally some of them might be a bit tired.

Chelsea's players were scattered all over the globe and I don't think this will turn out to be a classic. For the managers, it's just about getting through these types of games.

St Johnstone v Rangers (1230)

St Johnstone got their first league win at Hamilton last time and will take great confidence from that, since they certainly didn't deserve to be at the bottom of the league.

The Saints will create chances and I think they will score, but they have been guilty of leaving themselves open at the back.

Rangers go into the game buoyed by the Old Firm win, but they have a recent record of struggling in these early kick offs.

Having narrowed the gap on Celtic, they will be determined not to slip up again and I fancy them to score a few goals if they can avoid a sluggish start.

Bolton v Tottenham

Tottenham tend to bully teams lower in the table and can score goals from all sorts of different areas. But Bolton are on a good run themselves and this will be a big test of Spurs' away form.

I know there have not been many draws in the Premier League this season but I can see this one ending up all-square, which wouldn't be the worst outcome for either team.

Verdict: 1-1

Portsmouth v Everton (1245 BST)

Everton are in fantastic form. They have got three three wins from their last three games, scoring 11 goals with none conceded.

But I'm edging on the side of a draw here. After beating Carlisle in the Carling Cup, there will be a little bit more confidence about Portsmouth. They created chances against Aston Villa last week and were a little bit unlucky to lose.

Falkirk v Kilmarnock

It was a poor result for Falkirk in the cup this week against a Celtic side who had rested many of their top players yet still won convincingly.

Eddie May's side are bottom of the league, but in spells during games they've actually played quite well and have caused some problems.

They're the 'nearly-men' of the season. They were unlucky against Hamilton to have a goal chopped off.

Kilmarnock have had an average start to the campaign and they too will be smarting after going out of the cup.

Jim Jefferies has been speaking about getting more consistency in the squad.

Kilmarnock v Rangers (1230)

Kilmarnock started with a bang, hammering Hamilton on the opening day, but they have laboured a bit since then and haven't picked up any more points.

I can't see that changing on Saturday since Kilmarnock's record against the Old Firm isn't great.

Kevin Kyle will be back leading the line and he is always a threat, so I fancy the home side to score.

Rangers will be on a high after a good Champions League result but they had to put in a real shift against Stuttgart.

Walter Smith only has a small squad to play with and tiredness could be a factor, although the visitors should have enough to win this one.

Prediction: 1-3

Burnley v Sunderland (1245)

Burnley have already recognised that winning at home is their best chance of survival. They've tried playing expansively away from home and it has cost them. But after home wins against Manchester United and Everton, they know they can do it against a team like Sunderland.

Steve Bruce has improved them and made them more difficult to beat, but I think a bit like Stoke last year, home support makes a difference.

Verdict: 2-1

Motherwell v Rangers (1215)

Motherwell have been a real breathe of fresh air so far, playing with great energy and enthusiasm.

The Fir Park youngsters have stepped up to the challenge really well and they will be fired up for a crack at Rangers.

Walter Smith's side have a 100% record and that's all you can ask for.

I'm looking forward to seeing new signing Jerome Rothen and he could be the answer wide on the left and bring a good balance to the team.

This will be a tough test for Rangers. But, if they play at their best, they should have too much for the home side.
