Usually this would be a Scudetto showdown, but instead Milan and Juventus aim to salvage some dignity from a disappointing campaign.

When the calendar was drawn up last summer and this big game was placed in the final round, many thought it would be decisive for the title or at least the Champions League spots.

However, they are both out of the loop and their fates are sealed, as the Rossoneri have third place under lock and key while the Bianconeri stumble into the Europa League via the preliminary round following a dismal 3-2 home defeat to Parma last week.

It's also a swansong for the tacticians and many players, as Leonardo and Alberto Zaccheroni are expected to move on after their brief spells in charge. The future is uncertain for the likes of Mauro Camoranesi, Pippo Inzaghi, David Trezeguet, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Felipe Melo.

Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato have a particular point to prove after failing to make it into Brazil's preliminary World Cup squad, although teammate Thiago Silva is in Carlos Dunga's list.

Pato made his comeback from a two-month lay-off during last week's 1-0 defeat at Genoa, so should complete a trident with Marco Borriello and Dinho. Massimo Ambrosini returns from suspension, although he is replaced on the naughty step by Mathieu Flamini. At least the treatment table has finally emptied out with only David Beckham remaining.

No such luck for Juventus, whose campaign has been dominated by injury problems. The season is over for Momo Sissoko, Sebastian Giovinco and Antonio Chimenti, while Paolo De Ceglie and Jonathan Zebina are likely to make way for Fabio Grosso and Martin Caceres.

Antonio Candreva could get a midfield chance to rest Claudio Marchisio. At the back Nicola Legrottaglie could put some of his disappointment at missing out on a World Cup place to one side by replacing Fabio Cannavaro as the partner to Giorgio Chiellini.

Vincenzo Iaquinta is in the 30-man long list for Italy's World Cup squad despite missing five months through injury, so he'll be eager to again prove himself in this final Serie A test. Amauri and David Trezeguet are likely to start from the bench along with international Mauro Camoranesi.

The Turin giants are unbeaten here since a 3-1 result in October 2005, but lost 3-0 at home earlier this season in a crushing defeat that saw Alessandro Nesta net and a Ronaldinho brace.

Keep an eye on: Ronaldinho (Milan) - All eyes will be on the Brazilian, as his future is up in the air. Although this has been surely his best personal campaign at San Siro, Dinho still missed out on a World Cup place and his contract renewal at Milan is not an absolute certainty either. It all boils down to having something to prove against Juventus.

Lazio and Udinese round off disappointing campaigns at the Stadio Olimpico. The theme of both sides' seasons has been underachievement.

Lazio looked like a force to be reckoned with back in August, with both the Coppa Italia and SuperCoppa recently added to the trophy cabinet and the highly regarded Davide Ballardini on their bench.

A nightmare season has unfolded in front of the Laziali's eyes however. They've flirted with relegation, suffered an ignominious early exit from the Europa League, swapped Ballardini for Edy Reja and lost both Rome derbies.

That's not to mention their lowest ebb, the recent 2-0 home loss to Inter which saw the Biancocelesti fans booing their own team and cheering Inter in order to spite Roma-an event that has tarnished the name of the club worldwide.

The only positive to be taken from Lazio's campaign is that they have survived with their Serie A status intact, although the Inter debacle aside Reja's men have been in decent form of late, with three wins from their last five.

As for Udinese it's been a case of déjà vu. Just like last term they started well, tailed off badly, but have finished in style. The difference this year is that patron Giampaolo Pozzo lost patience with Coach Pasquale Marino and replaced him with Gianni De Biasi in December, a change that only deepened the Zebrette's malaise.

Marino was recalled in February, but it was too late to mount a bid for European qualification, and the Bianconeri go into the final weekend 12th, one point ahead of 15th placed Lazio.

Now confusion reigns, as Marino has made it clear that he will leave for good this summer and the rumour mill has spun into action regarding his successor, with Parma boss Francesco Guidolin apparently having agreed to take charge.

Like Lazio, you suspect Udinese will simply be happy to get this season over and done with.

Injury list regulars Mourad Meghni, Albano Bizzarri, Francelino Matuzalem and Christian Manfredini remain absent for Lazio.

Udinese's first choice 'keeper Samir Handanovic is suspended, as is Aleksandar Lukovic, whilst Agyemang Badu, Chris Obodo, Dusan Basta, Gaetano D'Agostino, Andrea Coda and Emanuele Belardi are all injured.

Keep an eye on: Antonio Di Natale (Udinese) - With 28 league goals to his name Di Natale is sure to be crowned this season's Capocannoniere. He's even in with a shout of winning the European Golden Shoe, although it'll take four goals against Lazio to draw level with Lionel Messi. Extremely unlikely of course, but don't put anything past Toto on current form.
