Oilers have been the better team of late, winning three-of-four after an 0-2 start in Carolina. And lets not forget that they held a 3-0 lead back in Game 1. Edmonton gained an immense amount of confidence in winning game 5 in OT on a shorthanded goal. The fact that the game was in OT and Carolina was so close to winning the Cup has dramatic emotional issues for the Canes. Much as we saw in game 3 of the NBA playoffs where the Heat literally staved off elimination with a dramatic come from behind victory in the 4th quarter injected them with a large amount of confidence and they easily won Game 4 and survived a scare last night in Game 5. Emotion is a huge part of any series, especially the Fin! als and although not quantifiable, Edmonton has the momentum, confidence, and DEFENCE to win this game and the Stanley Cup.
